Surgical Breast Augmentation And Its Process

The medical term for breast augmentation is augmentation mammoplasty. Occassionally, it is known as breast enhancement or breast enlargement plastic surgery. The process is cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery that uses silicone or saline breast implants placed in back of the breast tissue or under the chest muscle. These silicone or saline treatments add size, shape and fullness to the breast.
The process in breast augmentation or enhancement takes several weeks. The initial consultation includes making decisions about the type and size of the breast implants. The surgeon will also advise the patient about post operative behaviors that the patient will have to follow for a successful operation. During the operation, the implants will be placed by the surgeon where they were determined during the initial consultation to be required to improved the size and fullness of the breasts. The breast augmentation surgical procedure takes between one to two hours.
Following surgery, the patient will be sore for about two days. Even after a few weeks, there might still be some soreness. The surgeon will advise the patient about what can be done to make her healing period less painfull and what to do to lessen the healing time. The patient who is going to have breast augmentation surgery should have a driver to take them to the surgeon’s office and to drive them back home.
Although some women have remarkable powers of recovery and are insistent on showing off their new breast size, a few days of rest is usually recommended by most plastic surgeons. Actually, listening to the instructions given to you by your surgeon and following them carefully will make the breast augmentation surgery a successful and physically satisfying experience for the woman who is suffering from small breasts or who has had her breasts misshappen following pregnancy and giving birth and who is not planning on nursing.
